i joined Cowboy Bar!

Its like a multiple conversation orgy.

This is actually the first time that i participate in a forum. Feel kindna 'suah-ku'.

Mentoring session is going great. Being with the mentoree, makes me feel young. And it really makes me want to do a lot of stuff.....

*looks into the skies*

Say.

"Do it with the heart wide open, say what you need to say..."

It Labour Day tomorrow, but i'm at home. I have no life, but a student life. I want to drink beer.

P.S: i got a zit on my face. Makes me totally don't wanna go out. KNN!

Saturday are sick days

I found out that every Saturday, i would become tired, weak and have a slight fever. Sundays too.

Damn.

Every Saturday. Maybe its the body, cannot take leisure. So punish the brain. WTF right? But once i hit the weekdays, the symptoms will disappear.

Got this concept stuck in my head, and i can't shake it off. Damn GH! You shouldn't have asked me, now i can't get it out of my head.

Mentored the Outram student over the weekdays. Nice chap to talk to. But i was really comprehensive on what to talk to him about, so i bombarded him with random nonsense about how to study. He seems like a nice kid that wants to work hard. But just thinks that he is not smart enough. Sounds like a bad case of insufficient confidence.

Rang Snoz to seek some advise from the mentoring guru, since she is the savior of TTTT (The Troubled Teens of Tomorrow), who else can i look for to guide young troubled teens? Her advice makes lots of sense.

Sometimes, senses don't get me far. The common ones especially.

JP Morgan Chase over the weekdays was fun too. Will post pics about it.

Met someone from my secondary school class yesterday! And i almost couldn't recognise him~

Exams are coming, life sux and i cannot sing

As the title says, there is no life but exam life. My fingers on the left hand kindna hurts due to practicing. This is a small price to pay to practice cello every other day.

Cello instructor says that my fundamentals is still crap. So i need to listen to songs by paying attention to the tones and singing them. This would help in conceptualizing the tones in my head, and have a better music memory.

I was like going, WTF!?

Friends who know me are simply tormented by my vocal singing ability. Its totally bass, and absolutely monotone.

I need singing help.

Recovered and a Godfather of Manga

Recovered like 90%. My nose still leaks now and then. Met with Jevon and the OOA chairman yesterday and realised that both of them were sick too. Just that the chairman is still sick, while Jevon is recovering.

So that means like out of 10 people i meet, 7 of them are sick.

I suspect there is a lurking evil out there making everyone sick by writing in it's evil notebook.

Doesn't that sounds like a plot from 'Deathnote'?

The movie series of 'Deathnote' doesn't come close to the comic version of it. I recently chanced upon a manga series drawn by the 'godfather of Manga', Dr. Osamu Tezuka.

Godfather
His cap is part of his iconic image.

I realised that most of my favourite manga were actually of his works! Like Astroboy, Kimba the white lion and Black Jack. It was amazing because they were simple drawings, but protrayed so much emotions and reality into them that they are just great classics. They were also great learning points for me because they always preach that there is goodness and hope in everyone.

Kimba the White Lion
About the white lion thats like cooler than the Disney's (Lion King) Simba, because he has a heart of gold, and is white!

I am sure some people of my age might remember this white lion because its anime is shown on TV in the early 90s. And i always watch it. Damn nice.

Black Jack
The genius doctor thats like suave and has a scar on the face. How cool is that? But i don't understand how a guy with a HUGE nose (the one with a white beard beside Black Jack) can actually survive in real life. Makes me go WTF everytime i see it.

Returning from nostalgic lane, i think the weather wasn't kind to people, so quite alot of people fell sick. As i am on the route to full recovery, hope that everyone will recover soon and be healthy, cause exams are coming and being sick during exam times just sucks.

Lots of water and rest. Take care everyone.

Running is going to be added to my schedule to make sure i am fit as a fiddle during this exam mugging period.

Sleeping for the past 3 days & a vegetarian me?

Since Sunday, i visited the family doctor.

I slept most of Sundays and Mondays, and even today.

I realised that before sleeping, thoughts of what i was studying before keep racing in my mind. My brain seems to be telling me to study, but the body just wants to sleep.

No more medicine tomorrow for me, since it seems that i am like 80% recovering. Just one more day of anti-biotics, and i'll be done.

Being ill is no fun.

I haven't been eating any chicken or banana for weeks. This was my medical diet according to my Chinese Sensei. And it seems to be working for me.

Oh! How i miss eating banana~ Weeks! Sigh~

I decide to pledge my Fridays to have no meat. (no surprise, because as a Catholic, i am suppose to dedicate my Fridays to have a no meat diet. Just that i was quite a slacker at it.)

This decision is afer a talk i had in the car when i was with Mom. Told my Mom that i actually wanted to try being vegetarian or try being vegan for a period of time. Maybe this will redeem us from suffering, and it'll maybe make me a wholesome person.

Mom dismissed it and said that regardless of redeeming anyone, its best to give one's body the best nutrition.

Perhaps it is just not time. I'll try the Friday diet. And see whether if it works.

Must have been the heavy downpour these few days. Rained at the most odd of times.

Went to the doctor today. Its been months since i have seen the family doctor. Usually i would go for the polyclinic.

Thanks Doc, for the medicine.

Will be better within days.

Economics: The true way of life out!?

Studying the UOL course really exposes me to a lot of economies. Its something that is new to me cause i have been doing engineering stuff for some time in Polytechnic and there wasn't much economics in my 1st year.

So.. this article explains why there are single men out there using Game Theory.

What is Game Theory?

If A and B are players of a game, they will react accordingly to how each other player will act out.

There is like a lot more of economics theory written on this, but this is the simple version one.

Read the article. Highly good insight.

Busy scheldule ahead

Supposedly, i am supposed to be busy with my exams. But i seem to be busy over some other stuff...

- I recently picked up some new (5)scores. Have to 'cheong' and at least go through some of the notes.

- Cello instructor says my scales and appregios are like crap. Back to the basics for me!

- Currently tutoring a sec 2 maths. The money comes in good time.

- I got assigned to a NS unit! But the SAF100 is suppose to come. So shot a mail out to the SAF already.

- INC club having volunteer events. Have to partake.

- Took up mentoring for Outram students. My form of returning to alma mater?

- My health is going up and down.

- Rice is going up, i'm worried that there might not be enough rice.

- Some matters of the heart.

- Met someone new/old!

- Miss movie watching

- Want to crap with Bert/Wenz/Qing/Bunz/Ron/Snoz/Chia/Ah Ze/Sar/Zeon/Ham/Tingz, but they are too busy with assignments/life/work/etc too.

- Want to eat banana, but worried about health.

- Creative juices are overflowing. But no where to contain.

In the midst of all this business, my "ONCE-IN-A-YEAR" UOL exams are coming and i'm freaking out.

And I'm still glad that at least i am still a virgin.

Enjoy!

Vintage old stuff...

Picked this comic book from the library.

Photobucket
Richie Rich!

A collection of the vintage character way before i was born. The drawings were more updated and much cleaned up. What i enjoyed was the classical good old feel of those 'We are ALL friends' theme. Something that is lost in modern comics thanks to Happy Tree Friends and PowerPuff girls.

Classics are just great.

Richie Rich isn't only a poor little rich boy, he is also an entrepreneur, good Samaritan, friend, adventurer and many many more!

Remembered that i only managed to read some of Richie Rich comics at home from some old comics when i was 10 to 12. Now i got like tons of them and savor the good old feel! Really shiok ah...

Happy April Fool's Day!

Photobucket
Saw this advertisement asking people to take part in Google's venture into Mars.

They even got plans on where to stay, how to live there and what to do there. And open sourcing is done over there! Great~ No Microsoft... haha...

Check out the FAQ on how they plan to land there...

How hard is it to land on the Martian surface?

Getting to Mars is actually (relatively) easy; it's landing that's tricky. In order to get to Mars the Virgle ships will need to build up enough delta v that when we reach the planet we'll be traveling on the order of 3 miles per second, with a quite heavy ship. Recall your high school physics: kinetic energy rises with the square of speed, and all this energy has to go back to zero when we land. One way might be to use atmospheric friction to slow down -- but the Martian atmosphere is so thin that we won't have enough altitude to slow down fast enough to avoid crashing. So our mission plan will have to employ a combination of technologies to land the staging, mission and crew vehicles, including biconics, split body flaps, feathered reentries and vectored impulse breaking.

I hear the cows mooing..."Bullshit!" hahaha....

Happy April Fool's Day~

Book reviews (2 - 6)

"Pyramids" By Terry Pratchet.

The legendary writer of the fantasy "Discworld". His writing is very smart. But i think its just overrated. But his ideas on having a mega-multi world storyline is quite good. Would try out more of his books in the future.

"Stardust" by Neil Gaiman.

Being a nerd, his comic series of " The Sandman" is a MUST read. But i never expected that he would do good as a novelist too. Would look forward to reading more of his books. The story was shorter than the movie, and more pessimistic than the movie. Not advisable for those that love the movie to read this book. The ending was not as fabulous as the movie.

His book, "Neverwhere" was also a good read.

"Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman.

Incredible how Neil can be so flexible in his writing form and write a modern day fairytale adventure. Good read. Much longer story compared to "Stardust". More action packed, and good character build up. Heard that a TV series was written out of this novel.

"Queen Camille" by Sue Townsend.

Sue Townsend is known for her "Adrian Mole" series. Funny shite, and makes me go "WTF!?" when i read this on the public transport. Full of funny characters and gives a good insight of what the 'royal' dogs talk about in the story.

And do the British people really love their dogs so much? Just a thought.

"Every Inch a King" by Harry Turtledove

I was really thinking whether if a person's name could have 'Turtle' in it or not. Well, this author really does have the animal in his name. Crazy story line and crazy characters. Funny shite.

"War with no end" by various writers

The war in Iraq seems to be like forever. Bush keeps rambling on how the war is now towards Islam Radicalism. And it has become a war with no end. Whats the reason? What motivates such a war? What happens now?

Money. Oil. The rich and the poor. Is that all to the characters in this long war?

As a reader, we might not be able to do much, but a sense of awareness would be beneficial to us. Good read cause quite a few famed authors about Capitalism are in it. One of the interesting read was about a film maker in Iraq and how he was forced to video record beheading scenes. His account of the beheading really shines a different light on what the war has made certain life change dramatically.
